Solus™ 6130 is a plant-based performance polymer from Eastman used as a binder for release coatings used in transfer metallized packaging (TMP) manufacturing.
Solus™ 6130 is a cellulose-based polymer designed as a binder in release coating formulations for use in metallized packaging through transfer metallized packaging (TMP) manufacturing techniques. It is made from an approximately calculated bio content of almost 50% and when used in TMP techniques, it eliminates film usage in transferring a metallized layer on packaging, making it an excellent ingredient choice for sustainable packaging manufacturing. Solus™ 6130 imparts a high degree of hardness, fast dry-to-touch times, and excellent block resistance in release coating formulations and emits low odor. Release coatings made with Solus™ 6130 are printable with UV-curable inks and overprint varnishes, making the application of a primer layer to the metallized layer on packaging unnecessary.
