Medium molecular weight branched sulfopolyester with a viscosity of 75-135,000 cP, dispersible in water up to 30% without the use of surfactants.
Eastman AQ™ copolyester 1950 is a semi-solid with a characteristic fruity odor completely dispersible is water at levels up to 30% without the use of any surfactants or additives. This grade can be used in repulpable, aqueous or hot-melt adhesive type applications. Odor: Fruity Viscosity @177°C: 75,000-135,000 cP Ring and ball softening point: 115°C Glass transition temperature (Tg): 2.5°C ± 7.5°C Hydroxyl number: 57 mg KOH/g Form: Solid Color: 4 max 100% water dispersible Adhesion to polyolefin substrates Repulpable in both neutral and alkaline conditions Hot melt adhesives
Solid-form grade that disperses directly in hot water and aids in formation of clear films at room temperature.
AQ™ 38S is a sulfopolyester polymer easily dispersed in hot water without the use of amines, co-solvents, surfactants or additives. It also aids in the dispersion of hydrophobic ingredients in water based products to form clear films at room temperature. Due to it's low Tg, AQ™ 38S forms flexible films on skin, making it especially suitable as a film former in cosmetics and personal care applications. Form: Pellets Color: Pale amber Glass transition temperature (Tg): 35-38°C dry polymer Inherent viscosity: 0.32-0.40 dL/g Melt viscosity @200°C: 9700 poise Acid number: <2 mg KOH/g Hydroxyl number: <10 mg KOH/g Bulk density: 6.5 lb/gal Aids emulsification of organic ingredients Low viscosity hairsprays Quick drying Water/humidity resistant Neutralizing amine not needed Adhesives and sealants Paints, coatings and primers Printing inks and overprints Textile sizes Sunscreen Lotions, creams and sprays
Pellet-form grade with excellent film integrity, alcohol and low water resistance. Disperses directly in water and aids in formation of clear films at room temperature.
Eastman AQ™ 55S polymer is a sulfopolyester that disperses directly in hot water without the aid of surfactants or additives. AQ™ 55S polymer aids the dispersion of hydrophobic materials in water based products and forms clear films at room temperature from aqueous dispersions. It has good film integrity and significantly improves water and smudge resistance of water-based makeup and mascaras. In hairstyling products, AQ™ 55S also provides excellent hold under high humidity conditions and stiffness that can be modified with thickeners or plasticizers. Form: Pellets Color: Pale amber Glass transition temperature (Tg) dry polymer: 51-55°C Inherent viscosity @200C: 42000 Poise Acid number: <2 mg KOH/g Hydroxyl number: <10 mg KOH/g Bulk density: 6.8 lb/gal High gloss Excellent film formation with or without alcohol Lasting hold in rain Low tack Smudge resistance Water resistant Adjustable firmness Coatings and primers Cosmetics and personal care Pigment dispersants Printing inks and overprints
