HiTEC® 33110 olefin-copolymer-based viscosity index improver is intended for formulating performance gear oils.
HiTEC® 33110 premium, shear-stable olefin copolymer (OCP) viscosity index improver (VII) is engineered to help control viscosity in gear oil formulations. It imparts excellent high-load capability and can replace high-viscosity synthetic oils in demanding applications like axle fluids. It also serves as an alternative to polyisobutylene-based (PIB-based) thickener technologies, which can be difficult to handle or cost prohibitive. The dosage rate for HiTEC® 33110 additive is highly efficient, allowing formulators to design a gear oil that is cost-effective and high performing.

Highly loaded gear oils and axle oils are susceptible to shear thinning without the addition of effective viscosity index improvers. Many gear oil formulations also rely on synthetic base stock or polyisobutylene thickeners to achieve oxidative stability and a high viscosity index. These solutions can be expensive or difficult to blend.
