HiTEC® 355 performance additive is designed for formulating extended-drain, heavy-duty gear axle fluids.
HiTEC® 355 premium performance additive is intended for formulating extended-drain, heavy-duty gear axle fluids. It exhibits excellent rust and corrosion inhibition to protect gear surfaces. The additive demonstrates exceptional oxidative and heat stability to prevent fluid degradation and extend drain intervals. Additionally, it is engineered with cold flow improvers for better cold temperature performance and antifoam chemistry to sustain lubricant performance. HiTEC® 355 additive has wide compatibility across various base oil types, including synthetic base stock.
Lubricants properly formulated using HiTEC® 355 additive in a suitable base oil can meet or exceed industry specifications, such as the following:

SAE J 2360 (MIL-PRF-2105E)
API GL-5 and MT-1
Appearance: Clear, dark amber liquid

Heavy-duty axle oils experience high loads and demanding conditions that can cause lubricant degradation and deposit buildup. These deposits can dirty the lubricant and gear tooth surfaces, shortening fluid life and drain intervals and potentially resulting in part damage. Without proper additives, poorly formulated axle oils can become unstable under high heat or separate due to water exposure.
