HiTEC^® 152 additive is a high–molecular weight polyisobutylene (PIB) tackifier agent diluted in mineral oil. This polymer-based tackifier is designed for use in formulating a wide range of lubricating oils and greases to improve lubricant retention, surface adhesion, and film thickness. Tackifiers are used to provide adherence to formulations that require tack or stringiness. Because of its wide compatibility, HiTEC^® 152 tackifier is suitable for all soap types, making it a versatile option for grease manufacturers. It can also reduce water spray-off to extend grease longevity and lower product consumption. In oil systems that utilize a misting system, this tackifier component can reduce the tendency of oil to develop FOG or buildup. It also finds application in solvent-based paints, adhesives, and other coating formulations when a tackifier is desired to improve stickiness and bonding properties. Additionally, HiTEC^® 152 additive demonstrates better shear stability than competitive chemistries, allowing the additive to maintain its performance over longer periods.
