Capstone™ FS-60 is an anionic fluorosurfactant that dramatically reduces the surface tension of aqueous floor care, paint, coating, and ink formulations.
Capstone™ FS-60 is a water-soluble anionic fluorosurfactant that provides water-based formulations with remarkably low surface tension and minimal foaming at low usage rates. The dramatic reduction in surface tension and minimal foaming make Capstone™ FS-60 and ideal wetting and leveling aid for coating, ink, and floor care formulations. Capstone™ FS-60 is also effective at improving the performance of concentrated cleaning solutions. Capstone™ FS-60 is available commercially as a 40% solids solution in water and IPA.
Note: All samples and purchases of Capstone for new projects and applications must first be evaluated for approval by ChemPoint and Chemours.

Anionic Fluorosurfactant
Poor leveling and wetting of floor finishes due to the high surface tension of water-based formulations.
Capstone™ FS-60 was designed to be used in floor finishes to reduce the amount of surface defects by improving wetting, leveling, and spreading of the finish.
Capstone™ FS-60 also improves re-wet properties in multi-coat applications.
Recommended usage rates range from 0.01-0.04% actives.
In latex paints Capstone™ FS-60 improves leveling and reduces surface defects of the dried latex film.
In addition, anti-blocking and soil resistance are also improved.
Usage rates in latex paints is typically 0.05-0.1% actives.
Capstone™ FS-60 is also used in cleaning solutions to improve the penetration of the cleaner and increase wetting of soils.
Capstone® fluorosurfactants & fluororepellents were some of the first short-chain alternatives commercialized so Chemours has lots of experience helping their customers reformulate.
Capstone™ fluorosurfactants and repellents were introduced as sustainable replacements that meet the goals of the U.S. EPA 2010/15 PFOA Stewardship Program. They are based on short-chain molecules that cannot break down to PFOA or PFOS in the environment.
