Chevron Phillips Chemical n-Heptane 99 Pure (CAS No. 142-82-5), commonly called heptane, is the purest form of normal-heptane (assay 99%). The alkane heptane (C7H16) is a non-polar, straight-chain hydrocarbon liquid with a gasoline-like odor. Heptane Pure has a flash point of 25 °F, boiling point of 208 °F, vapor pressure of 1.60 psi at 100 °F, and its molecular weight is 100.23 g/mol. Heptane 99 Pure is commonly used as an organic solvent for a wide range of applications that require batch consistency or applications concerned with contaminants and impurities in the liquid.
