ADCOTE™ 37-220 is a water-based dispersion of an ionomer resin used as a heat seal coating for food and medical packaging applications.
ADCOTE™ 37-220 is a VOC-free, water-based dispersion of the SURLYN™ ionomer. It is used as a heat seal coating applied to paper or foil at a coating weight of 0.5–5.0 lbs per ream. Coatings of ADCOTE™ 37-220 can be subsequently heat sealed to secondary substrates such as PET, foil, paper, polyolefins, nylon, and cellophane to form peelable adhesive bonds. ADCOTE™ 37-220 offers fast heat seal bond strength development, a low activation temperature, and a high hot tack. ADCOTE™ 37-220 also offers outstanding moisture and grease resistance and is ideal for packaging foods containing water, grease, or oils. Typical applications for ADCOTE™ 37-220 include its use as an adhesive for lidding on rigid food packaging containing greasy or oily foods, an adhesive for creating paper pouches and aseptic packaging, and a primer for foils.
