CoatOSil™ 7001LC is a silicone-based additive ideal for replacing fluorosurfactants and improving wetting and leveling in solvent-based coatings and inks.
CoatOSil™ 7001LC is a silicone additive ideal for improving wetting, leveling, and antiblocking properties in solventborne coatings and inks. It is a silicone–polyether block copolymer additive containing low cyclics that reduces surface tension and helps create a smooth, even coating coverage on a variety of substrates used in coating and ink applications. CoatOSil™ 7001LC has excellent compatibility with multiple solventborne formulations and can also be used in waterborne systems. The improved wetting and leveling properties this additive provides help coatings and inks form even films with reduced defects such as cratering and orange peel on low–surface energy substrates. The resulting films also gain a high amount of gloss and have significantly improved distinctness of image (DOI) and clarity. CoatOSil™ 7001LC also improves slip, block, and scuff resistance to a moderate degree. This additive is typically used in industrial and automotive clearcoats and can also be used in many other solvent-based formulations. The combination of properties and performance of CoatOSil™ 7001LC make it an ideal additive to replace fluorosurfactants and PFAS-containing additives used for wetting and leveling.
