EMAC+® SP1501 is a 20% EMA copolymer developed by Westlake for applications requiring flexibility, toughness, and high- and low-temperature performance. It offers excellent elasticity and temperature-resistance properties with a brittleness temperature of less than −73°C and a melting point of 96°C.
EMAC+® SP1501 is a high-performance ethylene methyl acrylate (EMA) block copolymer containing 20% methyl acrylate. It is especially suited for applications where high filler loading is important, such as extrusion coatings, compounding, and hot-melt adhesives. With its excellent flexibility, toughness, and freezing-temperature performance, it withstands demanding operating conditions, resisting impact and environmental stress cracking. EMAC+® SP1501 is exceptionally compatible with a wide range of substrates and polymers, including paper, polyolefins, ionomers, PVC, polyesters, and other polar polymers. EMAC+® SP1501 provides performance at both high and low temperature extremes and has a durometer hardness Shore D scale of 37 and offers 480% elongation at break.
