Solus™ 2300 is low–molecular weight cellulose ester designed to optimize the performance of high-solids industrial coatings.
Eastman Solus™ 2300 is a performance additive designed to improve the efficiency and performance of high-solids, low-VOC coatings. Its low molecular weight imparts a low viscosity to thermoplastic and thermosetting systems, providing performance benefits, such as decreased dry-to-touch times, increased early hardness, and improved gloss and polishability.
One common issue faced with coatings is long dry-to-touch times. Solus™ 2300 can be substituted for 5% of the resin to reduce dry-to-touch times by up to 40%. In addition, the inclusion of Solus™ 2300 into low-VOC coatings helps greatly decrease surface defects due to surface contamination, reducing rework and cost.
