HiTEC® 397 is a performance, limited-slip top-treat additive package for gear oils in modern limited-slip axles.
HiTEC® 397 is a superior limited-slip top-treat additive package commonly used in gear oil formulations for limited-slip differentials. It is designed with advanced friction modifiers that help reduce squawking and rattling for a better driving experience. It demonstrates excellent torque transfer in modern drivetrains and has proven performance in a wide range of axles. HiTEC® 397 can also be used as an aftermarket top-treat additive or incorporated directly into the limited-slip gear oil at the blend site.

Without properly formulated automotive gear oils, limited-slip differentials can experience noise, vibration, and harshness, also called clutch chatter or squawking. When the clutch does not properly engage, it can cause gear grinding, shifter blocking, or a tendency for the car to creep forward, creating a safety concern. It can also create poor torque transfer, resulting in reduced power, increased friction, and potential component damage.
