LOCTITE^® 518™ is a single-component gasketing solution designed specifically for creating strong, durable seals between flange surfaces. It is a flexible, anaerobic adhesive that cures in the absence of air and the presence of metal ions and minor surface contaminations from oils, such as lubrication, cutting, anti-corrosion, and protection fluids. LOCTITE^® 518™ eliminates the need for traditional gaskets by filling surface imperfections and gaps up to 0.25 mm, providing a flexible and solvent-resistant seal. This gasketing solution offers exceptional physical properties, ensuring a tight and leak-free seal that can withstand vibrations, fluid pressure, and extreme temperatures ranging from -55.0°C–150.0°C (-65.0°F–300.0°F). It also provides medium-strength bonding, allowing for easy disassembly of sealed components when necessary and making maintenance and repairs more convenient.
