MKC™ Silicate MS51 is a low-viscosity specialty methyl silicate oligomer structure obtained via the hydrolysis condensation of tetramethoxysilane. As an advanced coating and paint additive, its formula offers versatile performance properties, including binding, cross-linking, and surface modification in various applications, such as powder coatings, hydrophilic glass coatings, organic–inorganic hybrid coatings, metal and plastic pre-coatings, and exterior paints and coatings. It imparts several exceptional properties, including contamination resistance, improved weathering and heat resistance, rapid hydrolysis, and increased dispersion in resin.
