FASCAT® 8202 catalyst, dioctyltin dilaurate, can cross-link two component polyurethane coating systems as well as RTV silicones.
The FASCAT® 8202 catalyst is employed for the purpose of cross-linking two-component urethane coatings, RTV silicones, and cross-linked polyethylene/silane co-polymer systems in the automotive, industrial, and refinish coatings sectors. The FASCAT® 8202 catalyst, which is absorbed on silica, can be used for cross-linking urethane powder coatings. This grade can further act as a gelling catalyst in the production of flexible and rigid polyurethane foams, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers. FASCAT® 8202 is a multifunctional catalyst suitable for a wide range of urethane cross-linking processes and silanol condensation reactions. The combination of alcohols with isocyanates drives the process of accelerating and completing the production of urethanes. FASCAT® 8202 is resistant to hydrolysis, although it will undergo hydrolysis when exposed to aqueous caustic at ambient temperature.
