FASCAT® 4208X, dibutyltin bis(2-ethylhexoate in 50% xylene), is a catalyst used in silanol condensation reactions for silicone-based caulk and sealants.
The FASCAT® 4208X catalyst is utilized in silanol condensation reactions for caulk and sealant applications, as well as in the manufacturing process of silicones. The suggested usage level for FASCAT® 4208X in formulations is 1.3%. It exhibits moderate activity as a curing catalyst for silanol condensation polymerization processes.
FASCAT® 4208X can be utilized in systems containing one or two components compatible with aromatic solvents. The FASCAT® 4208X has a moderate level of activity, providing silicone emulsions and adhesives that cure at room temperature for an extended pot life.
