Overview
The FASCAT® 4101 catalyst is a solid catalyst that remains stable when exposed to water and is effective even at low concentrations. It is highly adaptable and can be utilized in esterification, polycondensation, and transesterification reactions. The FASCAT® 4101 catalyst dissolves in carboxylic acid at 80°C while the reaction is taking place.

- Soluble in solvents, either with reaction or complex formation
- Soluble in dilute NaOH, warm HNO3
- Insoluble in nonpolar solvents
- Synthesis of saturated polyester resins for powder coatings
- Transesterification reactions run at temperatures between 140°C and 180°C
- Can be active for esterifications as low as 180°C
