HiTEC® 648E ashless dispersant additive improves cleanliness properties in industrial lubricants. It also enhances the dropping point in grease formulations.
HiTEC® 648E additive is an ashless, boron-containing dispersant technology used in a wide range of industrial lubricants and greases. In industrial oils where water separation is problematic, it improves cleanliness, filterability, and detergency properties. HiTEC® 648E additive is also used as a cost-effective dropping-point enhancer in grease formulations, improving the structural properties of grease at high and low temperatures.

In circulating oil applications, particulates form that can agglomerate and build up on surfaces, forming deposits and sludge. This can contaminate the oil and system, leading to frequent oil changes, increased maintenance, or equipment damage. Dispersants are added to oil formulations to solve this issue, but some technologies have poor filterability and separate from the oil as it is pumped through filters. In high-temperature grease applications, a low dropping point indicates that the grease has poor heat resistance and will turn into a liquid, resulting in leaks and impairing its lubricating properties. Common solutions formulators utilize to improve the dropping point can be costly.
