METHOCEL™ E5 Premium LV a low–molecular weight hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) polymer commonly used as a thickener. It yields a viscosity of approximately 5 cPs at 2% addition in water.
METHOCEL™ E5 Premium LV is a water-soluble HPMC cellulose ether polymer with moderate hydroxypropyl substitution and high methoxy content. This grade is used in various industrial applications. It is an excellent rheology modifier to provide pseudoplastic rheology in applications requiring low viscosity. Due to its unique chemical composition, METHOCEL™ E5 Premium LV excels in controlling the flow properties of liquid coatings and inks, ensuring good stability and uniform film formation. Additionally, it acts as a great binder in ceramic isostatic pressing applications due to its thermal gelation properties, which improve green strength and reduce defects and waste.
