FASCAT® 8231 organotin is a silicone condensation catalyst that offers hydrolytic stability for aqueous emulsions.
The FASCAT® 8231 catalyst, also known as dioctyltin bis(2-ethylhexyl mercaptoacetate), is a yellowish liquid with a distinct smell. This grade is commonly employed in systems where a long pot life and hydrolytic stability are crucial for the curing process. FASCAT® 8231 can be utilized in water-based emulsions for textile purposes. This catalyst is employed in silanol condensation processes for caulk and sealant applications, as well as in the manufacturing of silicones.
