METHOCEL™ A15C is a methylcellulose polymer that is typically used to thicken coatings, inks, and adhesives. It yields a viscosity of 1500cp at 2% in water.
CAS number: 9004-67-5
Sodium Chloride: max 1.5%
Viscosity, 2% in water, @20°C, calculated: 1200 - 1800 cP
Primary Chemistry:
Methylcellulose (MC)
METHOCEL™ A15C allows for precise viscosity and rheology control of water-based formulations. It is also used as an extrusion aid and green strength additive in high performance ceramics. Solutions containing METHOCEL™ A15C are pseudoplastic in nature, have excellent lubricity and can be easily applied to surfaces or extruded. METHOCEL™ A15C will reversibly gel above 55°C making it an excellent binder for improving green strength in ceramics. In addition METHOCEL™ polymers have outstanding pH stability and can be used in acidic and alkaline cleaning solutions to produce a stable viscosity and improve shelf life.
