Eastek™ 1000 is an aqueous dispersion of a low Tg sulfopolyester polymer. It is used as a film-forming resin in inks and coatings for flexible packaging.
Eastek™ 1000 is the 30% solids, aqueous dispersion of AQ™ 38S, a sulfopolyester resin with a glass transition temperature of 38°C. It consists of self dispersing anionic particles and is free from co-solvents, amines, and surfactants. Eastek™ 1000 exhibits fast drying, excellent alcohol resistance, low odor properties, and good penetration into porous substrates. When used as a film former and binder, Eastek™ 1000 rapidly dries to form clear and glossy thermoplastic films with good flexibility and no tack. Eastek™ 1000 has excellent adhesion to many common packaging films such as metallized PET and provides films with outstanding flexibility making it an ideal binder for inks and coatings used for flexible packaging.

Slow printing speeds of flexographic and gravure inks
VOC emission due to the use of co-solvents in water based inks
Poor adhesion of printing ink to flexible films
Eastek™ 1100 is used as a film former in water based coatings and as a binding resin in water-based inks.
The rapid drying time allows for improved efficiency of printing and coating operations.
