Galaflow SL 60 is one of the most widely used natural preservatives in the meat industry. Sodium lactate is the industry-standard antimicrobial ingredient for processed meat and poultry. It effectively inhibits the growth of Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridium perfringens, and other spoilage organisms, making it an essential tool for food safety compliance in ready-to-eat meat products. The USDA allows sodium lactate to be used as an antimicrobial agent in meat and poultry products under 9 CFR 424.21. Beyond its preservative function, sodium lactate provides excellent water-binding capacity that improves product yield and juiciness in cooked and processed meats.
