Overview
ETHOCEL™ Standard 7 Industrial is an ethylcellulose polymer used as a rheology modifier, film former, and binder in solvent-based formulations. It is soluble in many common solvents used in coatings, inks, and adhesives, including alcohols, ketones, aromatics, and esters.
ETHOCEL™ Standard 7 Industrial is used primarily as a binder in specialty inks and coatings that are applied via rotogravure and flexographic methods to control viscosity and impart shear-thinning rheology.
In ink and coating formulations, ETHOCEL™ Standard 7 Industrial may also be used as a binder that improves printability onto glass, plastics, and other difficult substrates. Films formed with this ethylcellulose polymer are highly durable and have excellent resistance to water and good resistance to chemicals.
ETHOCEL™ Standard 7 Industrial is especially useful in applications that require clean burnout, such as conductive pastes used in printed circuit board applications.
ETHOCEL™ Standard 7 Industrial is easily dissolved in hot waxes and polymers for hot melt applications, where it improves bond strength and moisture resistance.
