ETHOCEL™ Standard 300 Industrial is a high–molecular weight ethylcellulose polymer used as a thickener for solvent-based coatings and printing inks.
ETHOCEL™ Standard 300 Industrial is the largest molecular weight ethylcellulose polymer of the ETHOCEL™ product line. It is primarily used as a pseudoplastic rheology modifier and thickener for solvent-based inks and coatings. It is soluble in many common solvent types, including ketones, alcohols, esters, and ethers.
ETHOCEL™ Standard 300 Industrial is also useful as a binder to improve green strength in applications that require high purity and clean burnout, such as ceramics and conductive pastes for screen printing circuits. Since ETHOCEL™ Standard 300 Industrial is thermoplastic, it can be used as a film former or resin modifier to improve film strength and flexibility in coatings, inks, and adhesives. The ETHOCEL™ Standard 300 Industrial ethylcellulose polymer is compatible with many common plasticizers and can be dissolved in hot polymers and waxes. It is also highly resistant to chemical attack by aqueous alkalis and solutions containing high salt concentrations. When used in heat seal applications, ETHOCEL™ Standard 300 improves bond strength, flexibility, and moisture resistance.
