Krytox™ TM7 Grease is an NLGI Grade 2 PFPE grease for tire mold release lubrication for electric and steam-heated tire manufacturing.
Krytox™ TM7 Grease is a high-performance, fluorinated grease with polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) thickener and proprietary additives. Krytox™ TM7 delivers exceptional thermal stability and very high load-carrying capability. Krytox™ TM7 has a useful temperature range of −20°C to 290°C (−4°F to 555°F). TM7 is designed for use in the vulcanization process of rubber tires in the automotive manufacturing industry and can be used in both electrically and steam-heated molds.
Krytox™ TM7 also boasts a very high degree of chemical nonreactivity and hydrolytic stability where contact with boiling water or steam has no effect. TM7 grease is a lubricant that eliminates carbon residue buildup that may occur on molds associated with hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon-based synthetic greases. Krytox™ TM7 also exhibits phenomenal adhesion properties that allow an operator to increase production and extend lubrication cycles (up to 5,000 cycles) without the need for relubrication.
Typical properties of Krytox™ TM7:
