Overview
CELLOSIZE™ QP-4400H is a water soluble, non-ionic hydroxyethylcellulose polymer. It is primarily used as a thickener in water-based cleaner, ink, paint, and adhesive formulations. The molecular weight of CELLOSIZE™ QP-4400H is tightly controlled allowing for much more consistent and stable viscosity batch to batch when compared to other common thickeners like guar and xantham gum. CELLOSIZE™ QP-4400H Hydroxyethilcellulose is surface treated to delay hydration. This allows for the polymer to be easily dispersed in water prior to hydration without the risk of forming gel or lumps. Hydration can be expedited once the polymer is dispersed by increasing the pH or temperature of the dispersion. CELLOSIZE™ QP-4400H will provide a viscosity of 4800-6000 cps when added to water at 2% weight. This efficiency allows for the reduction of water soluble solids in emulsions and improves the moisture resistance of paints and adhesives thickened with CELLOSIZE™ QP-4400H Hydroxyethilcellulose.
