CELLOSIZE™ QP-52000H is a water-soluble and non-ionic hydroxyethyl cellulose polymer. Because of it's high molecular weight it is a very efficient thickener for cleaners, paints, adhesives, inks, and coatings. At 1% in water it will yield a solution viscosity of 2400-3000 cP. This efficiency leads to a reduction of water soluble solids in latex emulsions and an improvement in the water resistance of cured paints and adhesives. The molecular weight and impurities of CELLOSIZE™ QP-52000H are tightly controlled allowing for more consistent and stable viscosity batch to batch when compared to guar and xantham gum. CELLOSIZE™ QP-52000H is surface treated in order to delay hydration and allow for the polymer to be evenly dispersed prior to hydration. Hydration can be expedited once the polymer is dispersed by increasing the temperature or pH of the dispersion.
