Overview
Solus™ 6905 is a cellulose-based polymer that serves as a binder in release coating formulations for metallized packaging, specifically through transfer metallized packaging (TMP) manufacturing techniques. Having a bio content of nearly 50%, Solus™ 6905 is an ideal ingredient for sustainable packaging manufacturing. Its use in the TMP technique also eliminates the need for film usage when transferring a metallized layer onto packaging.
This polymer provides a high degree of hardness, fast dry-to-touch times, and excellent block resistance in release coating formulations, while emitting low odor. Additionally, release coatings made with Solus™ 6905 are compatible with UV-curable inks and overprint varnishes, eliminating the need for a primer layer on the metallized layer of the packaging. Solus™ 6905 is soluble in a variety of organic solvents and creates a solution with relatively low viscosity.
