CAB-553-0.4 is a high butyryl, high hydroxyl cellulose ester resin. It is soluble in alcohols.




Product Overview

CAB-553-0.4 is used as binder or additive in various types of coatings and inks. The high butyryl level provides high flexibility, high solubility and compatibility with cross-linking resins and plasticizers. It is used in cross-linked finishes to improve dry-to-touch time, reduce cratering, provide better pigment dispersion and improve coating performance. CAB-553 is soluble in alcohol and organic solvents, it even tolerates a substantial portion of water. CAB-553-0.4 is also used in nail care products for its compatibility and solubility in alcohols. it provides improved clear film, flow and dry-time.
