CAP-482-20 is a high molecular weight cellulose acetate propionate (CAP). It is commonly used as a film former and resin modifier in inks, coatings, and nail polish.
CAP-482-20 has a high propionate level and a high viscosity. Cellulose acetate propionate (CAP) are highly soluble and compatibility with most common resins. They provide the durability of cellulose acetate and the flexibility and solubility of cellulose acetate butyrate. They are commonly used as film former or resin modifier in inks, OPVs, plastic and paper coatings. Adding CAP-482-20 to a coating or ink improves leveling, dry to touch time, durability, gloss, and UV stability. CAP-482-20 is commonly blended with CAP-482-0.5 in order to achieve the proper viscosity.
