POLYOX™ WSR N-10 is a water-soluble poly(ethylene oxide) polymer typically used as a binder, thermoplastic resin, and film former for agricultural and cleaning applications.
POLYOX™ WSR N-10 is a nonionic, water-soluble poly(ethylene oxide) polymer. It offers superior film-forming properties and creates films that are readily soluble in water. With a molecular weight of 100,000 g/mol, WSR N-10 has the lowest molecular weight of the POLYOX™ line. When added to water at 5%, POLYOX™ WSR N-10 polymers will create a solution with 30–50 cPs of viscosity.
POLYOX™ WSR N10 is a resin that can be cast or extruded into thermoplastic films used in seed coating, seed tape, and water-soluble packaging applications. These flexible films have a high degree of toughness and resistance to oils and greases.
In seed coating and seed tape applications, the water solubility of POLYOX™ WSR N-10 films allows seeds to release when in contact with water to control germination and growth. The films made from the POLYOX™ WSR N10 water-soluble resin create water-soluble packages that deliver premeasured doses of various materials like pesticides and detergents. These doses can be handled safely and will only release when in contact with water.
