EPOLENE® C-23 Polymer
EPOLENE® C-23 is a branched, low-density polyethylene wax used as an additive to improve paraffin wax coating properties. It has a relatively high melting point and viscosity compared to other EPOLENE® C-type polymers.
EPOLENE® C-23 is a medium molecular weight, low-density polyethylene wax typically utilized as an additive for extrusion coating of board stock. It has low color and excellent stability and flexibility at both low and high temperatures. These properties make it ideal for modifying paraffin wax-based barrier coatings used in packaging applications, where EPOLENE® C-23 increases gloss, grease resistance, blocking temperature, and reduces moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR).
EPOLENE® C-23 polyethylene wax may also be used within automotive soft trims. In this application, it is used as a resin to strongly bond carpet fiber bundles to carpet substrates. This allows carpets made with EPOLENE® C-23 to be thermoformed more easily into semi-rigid carpet inserts for automobiles.
