EPOLENE® E-43 is a maleic anhydride–grafted polypropylene wax. The added maleic anhydride chemical functionality of E-43 makes it a great coupling agent for composites based on polypropylene.
EPOLENE® E-43 is a medium–molecular weight polypropylene polymer modified with maleic anhydride that is useful as a compatibilizer for polypropylene (PP) composites. The maleic anhydride functionality and polarity of E-43 allow for increased compatibility of PP composites with fillers and pigments. This makes it a useful polymer coupling additive for producing custom masterbatches. EPOLENE® E-43 may also be used as a compatibilizer for other plastic materials to create various plastic alloy systems. E-43 features very high hardness at a high softening point relative to other EPOLENE® polymers and is an ideal ingredient in floor polishes to increase slip resistance.
