Viton™ B-50 is a bisphenol (BPAF) cured gum fluoropolymer with low viscosity and improved mold flow compared to other B-type gum polymers. It is excellent for use in extruded goods, complicated moldings, and high-voltage insulation parts.
Viton™ B-50 fluoroelastomer is a B-type gum polymer composed of hexafluoropropylene (HFP), vinylidene fluoride (VF2), and tetrafluoroethylene (TFP) with 68.5% fluorine content.
Viton™ B-50 provides a higher viscosity level than other B-type gum polymers and is best suited for compression molding applications. Viton™ B-50 also resists fluids and retains flexibility better under dry heat than A-type polymers.
Physical form: Slab
Color: Silvery gray
Odor: None
Mooney viscosity, ML-10 at 100°C (212°F): Approximately 50
Specific gravity: 1.86

Primary Chemistry: Terpolymer of hexafluoropropylene (HFP), vinylidene fluoride (VF2), and tetrafluoroethylene (TFE)
Excellent resistance to ozone, oxidation, abrasion, and weathering
Improved heat resistance, oil and chemical resistance, and mechanical properties (tear strength, elongation, and tensile strength)
Higher reliability due to good dielectric strength
Better processability for improved yield and less reject
Enhanced flexibility and elasticity compared to polyester, polyethylene, and polyurethane
Limited resistance of fluoroelastomers for use in high-voltage power applications
Low flexibility or elasticity of traditional fluoroelastomeric gums
High-voltage power cables for electrified vehicles (EVs)
Solution coatings of fabrics, tanks, and chemical containers
Blending with other gum polymers for viscosity modification
Compression molded and extruded parts
Wire insulation and jacketing
Valve cover and fuel sender seals
