Elvacite™ 4028 is a high molecular weight methacrylate copolymer that is designed for use as a binder in screen printing inks.
Elvacite™ 4028 is a thermoplastic acrylic resin composed of methyl methacrylate and n-butyl methacrylate.
It is available as a solid bead that is soluble in ketones, toluene, glycol ethers, esters, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Elvacite is primarily used as a binder in screen printing inks; however, it can be used in a variety of ink formulations including flexographic and gravure.
It provides good pigment wetting and produces films that are flexible yet remarkably durable.
Due to a good balance of physical properties and adhesion Elvacite™ 4028 is also used in PVC finishing lacquers, plastic coatings, and heat seal adhesives.
