Elvacite™ 2044 is a high–molecular weight, solid-bead acrylic resin used in solvent-based coatings, inks, and adhesives as a film former and binder.
Elvacite™ 2044 is an acrylic resin based on n-butyl methacrylate polymer with the lowest glass transition temperature (Tg) of the Elvacite™ resins. It provides outstanding flexibility to solvent-based film-forming applications, and it is soluble in a wide variety of solvents, including ketones, aromatics, esters, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and monohydric alcohols. Like all Elvacite™ resins, Elvacite™ 2044 has great resistance to weathering and is also resistant to water, dilute acids and alkali, and chemical fumes. Films made using Elvacite™ 2044 resin have excellent adhesion to smooth plastic films and foils; therefore, this polymer is commonly used in adhesive, coating, and ink formulations for flexible packaging applications.
