Overview
Elvacite™ 2042A is a high molecular weight ethyl methacrylate polymer that is designed for use in reactive coating systems. It is a solid bead resin that is highly soluble in ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, and ethers. It is tolerant of alcohol and yields films that are incredibly clear, glossy, and abrasion resistant. Elvacite™ 2042A is typically used as a film former in abrasion resistant coatings for outdoor applications where UV resistance is critical. Elvacite™ 2042A is highly compatible with other resin systems including epoxy, cellulosic, alkyd, and vinyl chloride. it can be used to modify these resins and improve toughness and clarity of coating formulations.
