Elvacite® 2043 is a solid bead acrylic resin that is soluble in alcohols. It works well as a binder in flexographic inks and film former in metal coatings.
Elvacite® 2043 is a low molecular weight, thermoplastic, ethyl methacrylate polymer. In addition to being soluble in ketones, esters, ethers, and aromatic hydrocarbons Elvacite® 2043 is also soluble in alcohol. This makes it useful as a binder in flexographic printing ink formulations. It provides outstanding pigment wetting, dissolves quickly, and is highly compatible with other common resin types including epoxy, alkyd, and vinyl chloride. The broad solubility of Elvacite® 2043 also makes it an excellent film former in coatings for substrates that can be sensitive to harsh solvents like metal and plastic.
