Elvacite™ MB-2823 is a rapidly dissolving acrylic resin with a low molecular weight of 25,000 and a high glass transition temperature of 80°C. It is recommended for use as a modifier for short-oil alkyds.
Elvacite™ MB-2823 is a solid acrylic resin valued as a modifier for short oil alkyds. As a non-dusting spherical bead, it is soluble in a variety of organic solvents, including aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, and esters, where it facilitates fast solvent release to form a solution of low viscosity. Elvacite™ MB-2823 is engineered with a narrow molecular weight dispersion, or polydispersity, contributes to its high resistance properties withstanding damage from abrasion, chemical attack from dilute acids and bases, and discoloration due to exposure to UV light or weathering.
