Elvacite® 4044 is methacrylate copolymer that is used as a film former in heat seal lacquers and ceramic coatings. It forms durable, flexible films.
Elvacite® 4044 is a medium molecular weight acrylic resin composed of methyl methacrylate and butyl methacrylate. It is often used as a film former in applications that require a good amount of flexibility in combination with durability. Elvacite® 4044 is well suited for use in heat seal coatings for flexible packaging and ceramic coatings. It is available in solid beads that are soluble in a variety of solvents including glycol ethers, aromatics, ketones, ester, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Solutions of Elvacite® 4044 will form durable, flexible films with outstanding UV resistance and weatherability.
