Elvacite® 4048 is a low molecular weight methacrylate resin.
It is available as a solid, thermoplastic bead that is soluble in aromatics, ketones, esters, glycol ethers, and hydrocarbons. Elvacite® 4048 was designed for use as a binder in ceramic printing ink. It provides the flexibility, pigment wetting, and durability need for printing onto ceramic surfaces. Solutions of Elvacite® 4048 form flexible films with exceptional clarity, durability, and weathering resistance. Elvacite® 4048 is compatible with many common binders and waxes. It can be used as a primary film former in coating applications for a broad range of surfaces.
