Elvacite® 2552C is a methacrylate resin that is designed to provide high levels of gloss and used as a film former in automotive coating formulations.
Elvacite® 2552C is engineered for use in solvent-based coatings where high gloss and finish depth is required. It is a medium molecular weight, solid bead acrylic resin that is soluble in ketones, aromatics, ester, and glycol ethers.
This polymer is internally plasticized to resist cold cracking and crazing and to provide flexibility over a broad range of temperatures.
Elvacite® 2552C is an ideal film forming polymer for solvent based base coats and
topcoats for transportation applications including automotive and aerospace.
It forms films that exhibit outstanding outdoor durability and resistance to chemicals such as alcohols and gasoline.
Elvacite® 2552C
has shown incredible adhesion to rigid plastic substrates including polystyrene, ABS, and PVC.
Elvacite® 2552C is used as a binder in coil coatings that require a combination of gloss and outdoor durability.
When included in coil coating formulations, Elvacite® 2552C provides the depth of finish needed for consumer appliances and automotive applications.
