Product Overview

Elvacite®2013 is a low molecular weight methyl/n-butyl methacrylate copolymer. This solid bead resin is dissolves quickly in toluene, esters, ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and glycol ethers. It provides a low solution viscosity and rapid solvent release. Elvacite® 2013 is often used as a film former in coatings & lacquers. It will form clear, durable films with excellent UV , temperature, and weather resistance. The monomer composition of Elvacite® 2013 makes it softer and more flexible than poly methyl methacrylate. Elvacite® 2013 is used in coil coatings when a combination of flexibility, durability, and fast cure are required. The fast solvent release of Elvacite® 2013 allows for the formulation of coil coatings that cure quickly and provide flexibility as well as the durability to withstand use in outdoor applications.
