Overview
Elvacite™ 2014 is a soft, flexible, medium–molecular weight methacrylate polymer in a solid bead resin format. This resin provides moderate viscosity in solution and is soluble in aromatics, ketones, esters, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and glycol ethers.
The films formed by Elvacite™ 2014 resin are UV resistant and remarkably flexible. Elvacite™ 2014 delivers excellent pigment wetting and is thus well suited for pigmented metal lacquers. It can be blended with cellulose acetate butyrate polymers to increase hardness and block resistance or with harder Elvacite™ copolymer resins to achieve intermediate film hardness.
Elvacite™ 2014 resin works well as a binding resin in coil coatings that require a combination of flexibility, durability, and clarity. Coil coatings formulated with Elvacite™ 2014 offer outstanding corrosion resistance and moisture protection for bright metals like aluminum, brass, copper, and bronze. Elvacite™ 2014 provides an optimal balance of flexibility and durability. It is also an excellent binder for seamless flooring.
