Elvacite™ 4036 is a functionalized methacrylate copolymer that is used as a film former in coatings that need improved adhesion to untreated polyolefins.
Elvacite™ 4036 is a thermoplastic methacrylate resin that is designed to adhere well to untreated polyolefins including polyethylene and polypropylene. It is available as a solid bead resin that can be dissolved in aromatics, ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, ester, and glycol ethers to form clear solutions with a relatively low viscosity. Solutions of Elvacite™ 4036 are often used as the primary film former in plastic coatings and primers. Films formed from Elvacite™ 4036 have excellent gloss, abrasion resistance, and outstanding weatherability and UV resistance.
