Elvacite™ TB-365 is a solid-bead methacrylate copolymer designed for use as a binder in solvent-based coating and adhesive formulations. It provides adhesion to metals such as steel, aluminum, copper, hot-dip galvanized steel, zinc, and tin, as well as plastics including polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polycarbonate (PC), and polyetheretherketone (PEEK). The resin is manufactured in water and contains no detected toluene or xylene residuals from the polymerization process.
The grade is intended for new formulations that require bonding between metals and plastics. TB-365 produces a clear solution at 30% in toluene, delivers 5B adhesion on steel, aluminum, copper, hot-dip galvanized steel, and tin, and provides excellent flexibility.
Insufficient coating or adhesive adhesion to difficult metal and plastic substrates.
Challenges with bonding dissimilar metal and plastic materials.
Poor adhesion to PET, PC, and PEEK in supported solvent-based systems
Poor adhesion to steel, aluminum, copper, hot-dip galvanized steel, zinc, and tin
