Tyzor® EHTAA is a titanium acetylacetonate in a 2-ethylhexanol solution. It will react to cross link hydroxyl and carboxyl functional groups. Tyzor® EHTAA is commonly used in solvent based printing inks where it decreases drying time, improves solvent resistance, and promotes adhesion to common packaging films. Tyzor® EHTAA is also added to paints and coatings where it will cross link binders and functional polymers to improve durability of cured films. As a reaction catalyst Tyzor® EHTAA will eliminate by-products while improving yield of esterification, condensation, and addition reactions. In addition, Tyzor® EHTAA can be used to form polymeric films of titanium dioxide via sol-gel processes. This is especially useful in glass and ceramic coating applications.
