Tyzor® PITA is a solvent-free organic titanium chelate used as a performance additive in silicone sealants, inks, and coatings and as a catalyst.
Tyzor® PITA is a solvent-free titanium chelate containing ethyl acetoacetate as a chelating agent. This titanate is mostly used as a catalyst in several kinds of reactions, such as transesterification and esterification, and as a cross-linking additive and adhesion promoter for sealants, paints, and inks. Compared to other Tyzor® products, Tyzor® PITA has an intermediate level of water reactivity, being more reactive toward water than grades like Tyzor® AA and TE but less reactive than Tyzor® TPT and TnBT. Tyzor® PITA is highly reactive at low temperatures, enabling it to react with hydroxyl and carboxyl functional groups to promote cross-linking and adhesion.
