Elvacite™ 2550 is a solid bead methacrylate resin. It is used in coating applications that require excellent adhesion to metal and outdoor durability.
Elvacite™ 2550 is a medium molecular weight methacrylate copolymer based on methyl methacrylate and n-butyl methacrylate. This thermoplastic resin is soluble in ketones, aromatics, esters, and glycol ethers. Elvacite™ 2550 is used as a film former and base resin in coating and adhesive applications. The films formed by Elvacite™ 2550 offer good flexibility and adhesion to metal substrates. In addition, the methacrylate backbone of this resin provides superior outdoor durability and UV resistance. For these reasons Elvacite™ 2550 is used primarily in cement staples and structural adhesives for metal.
